P: Missing links slows down photoshop to a crawl

If you open a photoshop document that has missing links that have a file path to a remote/external server. Photoshop slows down significantly. If you switch PSD tabs and switch back it takes around 30 seconds just to load each time. It's as if it continues to search for the links even when you haven't asked it to.

Sorry guys, i should have come to this one. I made a mistake, it hasn't been fixed.

Seems to be Windows specific. One of our QE could repro and will have engineering investigate.

@Joseph228854763kxw Can you share a file that exhibits this behavior? (link to CC files or dropbox)

This has not been fixed for me in the latest update. If I receive a .psd from someone who has some linked .psd from their cloud storage inside the .psd I'm given and use it --- my Photoshop will barely function, freezes constantly, can barely zoom, etc.

The issue seems to have been fixed in the latest photoshop. If I encounter it again I will send you a PSD directly.

Hmm. I am not able to reproduce that behavior. I created a 3000x3000px file and placed 3 linked JPEG images as Smart Objects from an SMB server into my file. I disconnected from the server. No delay in switching documents. Closed Photoshop, relaunched and reopened the same file with server disconnected, not delays. I tried on both Windows 10 and macOS.

Anything different from your setup?
