P: Mouse cursor replacing brush outline when drawing on a layer with a mask enabled

When making quick short strokes the brush outline cursor is replaced with the standard mouse pointer cursor, on a layer that has a mask enabled. This doesn't seem to be an issue when the layer's mask is disabled or when the brush is changed to crosshairs.

I primarily use photoshop to paint, and while I don't use layer masks every day, it is definitely an issue when I am working on a piece that is quite detailed.

Win11 Pro, Generator disabled. PS 25.4.0, Xencelabs tablet. Windows ink has to be on or else pressure doesn't work.

It's absolutely at its worst when using the Quick Selection Tool, where I barely ever get the brush shape and just a pointer, it's absolutely frustrating.

Absolutely losing the will to live with all the bugs in the last few years, it just keeps getting more and more frustrating getting through a workday 😕😕

Generator disabled, V25.3.1

I'm having the same issue, and Generator is disabled/Image assets is unchecked. The issue didn't start for me until I updated to 25.0.0

It looks as though the cause of this may have to do with generator as *Meekon discovered. Try going to File > Generate > and make sure Image Assets is unchecked. Also go to Preferences > Plugins and uncheck Enable Generator there as well. This is what you can do to workaround the problem and we'll work on a fix.
