P: Move Tool - Toggle auto select shortcut changed

Hello. The changed shortcuts to toggle the autoselection of layers with the move tool selected is highly frustrating to me. I used to have a great workflow with auto select turned on and used cmd to drag elements that were either off-canvas or too small / too transparent to grab them. Now it seems to be inverted: I need to turn auto select off to toggle with cmd. When it is turned on, cmd seems to toggle now between layer and group auto selection.
I can't understand why this was changed or is at least not something I can switch between in the preferences.

Thanks you very much for looking into this.

Another vote for very frustrated! Just made the jump to upgrading to the monthly CC subscription because I have a big project. Just got the creative juices flowing and am now so frustrated that I can't select multiple layers and move them together without having to group them! Please fix this!!

Oh man, glad to see I'm not alone on this, I finally took the plunge to get all setup on Ps CC 2014 yesterday and got totally stopped dead in my tracks on switching by this. I tried to figure out a way to work around it or just get used to this behavior, but I simply can't. I really resonate with OP, I used to have a great workflow with auto select turned on and used cmd + click / shift + click to select and drag multiple elements that were either off-canvas or too small / too transparent to grab them without starting the "moving click" inside a layers bounds. I'd be happy with pretty much any way to get the old behavior back as I literally just cant use 2014 without this behavior.

Hi all,
Thank you for the feedback.
This behavior is new to the 2014.2 release, as you have figured out.
We apologize for the frustration and inconvenience this change has caused.

We're looking into the issue now and will get back to you.

Thanks,
Meredith

Adobe why? They should make improvements not changing something that worked so long.

Fix needed as soon as possible.

One generous adobe forum citizen advised to make tool presets for Move tool https://forums.adobe.com/message/6799...

May be it could help someone.

Anyone found out if there's any way to get back the old behavior by using different settings/shortcuts?
This really is highly frustrating as it's a core interaction, disrupting the workflow I had for years! With the current behavior it automatically changes the selection to the highest folder in the hierarchy, which makes me unintentionally moving a lot of layers (causing seconds of delay for an unintended action) and not just the layer/group I selected. I don't see how this can be useful to anyone.

Hey there!

Same thing here, totally disrupted my workflow. I've been using this feature for 7-8 years now, I don't see what's the use in changing it.
