P: New user interface lacks contrast and many usability cues, lots of other problems

I just updated to Photoshop CC(2015) version 2015.1. Adobe changed the UI to the flat look you see on phones and tablets. I do not see any way to select the classic interface, which I'm sure many desktop users of PS prefer.

This feels yet another attempt by Adobe to be trendy without caring about what users want or need. Didn't they learn anything from the dumbed-down Lightroom import fiasco?

The version I complained about in my OP is the Nov 30, 2015 version. Help -> System Info says

"Adobe Photoshop Version: 2015.1 20151114.r.301 2015/11/14:23:59:59 CL 1053036 x64"

Today there is an update available from Creative Cloud, but the "What's New" only mentions an update to Camera Raw. Has anyone installed it? I have not. If you have, does it do anything to the UI?

Adobe obviously considers their changes to the UI to be so minor that they didn't bother to mention it in the release notes for 2015.1 -- not even under "Other Enhancements" (see https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/usi...). So I wouldn't be surprised if they reverse the change, they do so once again without mentioning it!

Seriously what are you playing at? After reading through some of these other comments I feel that I may have been too calm surrounding this. Your software has been used by some of the leading experts in the design industry for years, so to roll out such an amateurish & unpolished excuse for a 'design refresh' is alarming to say the least. You should be ashamed of yourselves. I trust that this will be reverted in the next update.

This is just ridiculous. I've paid for Photoshop for almost a decade now and am appalled at these design changes. This isn't a step in the right direction by any means and needs to be reverted immediately. May be time to switch to Sketch for UI work. Disappointed Adobe. Disappointed.

Apple and Microsoft have both invested millions developing their user interface standards. The best apps stand out not by fiddling with the widgets and chrome of the interface design, but by providing powerful and elegant tools which leverage the skills _which I already know_ in the particular environment.

If Adobe wants to be in the operating system design business, that's fine, but it's a mystery to me why it insists on foisting non-standard UI on us just for the sake of something new.

Classic example of self-important people that find a way to break something -- only to justify their existence.

Hellooooo Adobe, in case you didn't get the memo...

Adobe EPIC FAIL!

REVERT AT ONCE!!!!!!

If I wanted a childish Photoshop interface I would get my 7 year old grandson to design one. I do not expect such crap to come from what used to be the world's premium digital photo processing company. Fix this garbage UI now or at the very least provide a rollback option. My blood is boiling.
