P: No image preview on Open dialog box on Windows

The preview window in the "Open" dialog box on Windows is gone in Photoshop. So if I click on a PSD file (once) to preview it, there isn't one. I have to completely open the file or go digging for it in Bridge. This is a very fundamental feature that needs to return, especially for those of us that have hundreds of files to dig through. PLEASE fix this.

If some random dude on the internet could make a codec to allow us to have psd thumbnails, I think the entire development team at Adobe shouldn't have much trouble packaging a similar solution into CC. This is really political nonsense. Fix this problem. It's keeping a LOT of professionals from upgrading to your cloud service, and I would be surprised if it didn't cause those that kept their old versions just in case to abandon the new adobe for the old.

Hey adobe. How about making a plugin for windows explorer that lets us see the actual image in explorer instead of a psd icon.

I've been using Bridge, and have kept CS 5 along with CS 6. Still miss those thumbnails. Still irritating, despite all of the tech info that has been given by Adobe on the reasons for the omission. The reasons may make sense, or not, but doesn't make the extra effort any less bothersome.

You will see that this thread has a long list of discontent with Adobe's handling of the situation. We are now years into W7 and W8 with no problem regarding the viewing of thumbnails except from Adobe.

There is a partial solution for you if you shoot jpegs alongside your Raw files. The jpegs will show up as icons and you can use the "large icons" selection to at least see jpegs. Otherwise, Grrrrrr! we are all really angry at Adobe's recalcitrant position.

Time to move on folks. I found an online visual icon creator months ago. Adobe for whatever reason doesn't feel it should supply this important part of an imaging program, alright. I don't like it either but there's an old saying: why beat a dead horse?
And their are solutions out there, as have been documented ad nauseum in this thread.
So let's all lower our blood pressure, quit attacking employees of Adobe who aren't able or willing to effect change, and just make your decisions down the road based on how important or simply annoying that is to you.
Spending so much time, taking everything personally, and making threats to someone is just self-indulgent and self-important, as the deleted poster I hope realizes by now.
Life is short: save it for the conflicts that really matter.

Your physical location notwithstanding this is an internet forum and would the people/corporation maintaining this Forum in all probability not be perfectly within their rights to remove posts that they, for whatever reasons, find to be not in keeping with their forum policy?

Yep!! It seems that "Chris Cox" somehow found the truth based on ALL of the comments to date, was in his way of thinking, inappropriate and to use his "official" reason (as received in my email account - "Chris Cox, a moderator for Photoshop Family, gave this reason for the change: "not reading previous posts, off into conspiracy nut land"" - I take that "comment" to be purposely hurtful and borders on libel -as a defamatory remark which damages both my character and reputation as a designer, professional and paying Photoshop customer.

I would suggest, Mr. Cox, weigh his actions (and words) carefully. To NOT do so, may create an issue, he doesn't want to be a part of. I love it when offering construction criticism about an otherwise great product, a decision can be made to take his ball, quit the game and go home - The last time I checked, this is the U.S. and I have 1st Amendment freedoms and protections.

Mr. Cox - you need to get off your high horse and stop making unwarranted assumptions about how one thinks - otherwise, there may be some serious legal consequences.
