P: Not printing in macOS 10.12 Sierra

Installed OS-X Sierra and now Photoshop 15.5.1 crashes when attempting to print. Print dialogue opens and settings can be modified, but when attempting to print PS crashes perhaps 9 out of 10 attempts. Most frustrating. I'm printing to an Epson 7890, but I have seen the same issue cited for Canon. Adobe support told me that Photoshop has not been tested on Sierra, but in reality Adobe has had Sierra for months and have even published known issues. I pay a ton of money for this thing to work and this nonsense from support is very annoying.

Thanks for your response, Jeff.  It's what I expected.  However, I have several issues with your response.

1.  It's obvious that Adobe did NOT do extensive testing macOS Sierra with Adobe PS CC or we wouldn't have this thread.

2. The option of staying on an older (dead end) OS is not a real option.  You're basically trying to force me into jointing CC and BTW, if I did go to CC, I still would have been without full use of PS for more than a month until there was enough commotion to get Adobe's attention.

3. "Older versions" of your software have been updated for bug fixes, which is what this is.  My PS CS6 worked fine before upgrading to Sierra and Sierra didn't cause issues with any of my other software.  I understand that I won't get new PS features staying with PS CS6 but bugs should still be fixed.

It seems to me that if Adobe was able to finally find a fix for this issue on PS CC, it wouldn't be that much more to fix is for PS CS6.  I've been a loyal Adobe customer for years and use Lightroom 6 as my main photo editing program.  I have PS CS6 for the occasional issue that needs a more complex edit but don't feel compelled to go with CC at present.  I've been considering going with CC but, I have to tell you that this kind of issue makes me much less likely to tie myself to Adobe with a monthly fee.  I hope you read this and respond.  I understand that you're give me the company's party line but it really leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Respectfully,

Stan Silverman

Did I miss something? Are thanks to Adobe/PS in order? It should be a huge THANK YOU to all of us for slogging through a 6 weeks period whithout the ability to use the PSD function. (Reminds me of a personality of currency who seemingy doesn't apologize to anyone, for anything, ever. )

So no support for CS6?

Older versions of Photoshop (including CS6) were not designed, nor extensively tested to run on macOS Sierra. We strongly recommend that customers do their own testing on a non-production partition to ensure that new operating systems work with their current hardware and drivers (printing, etc). You may wish to remain on an older version of the OS that is compatible with prior versions of our software. We can try and help find a workaround, but older versions of our software haven't been updated in years and won't be updated in the future.

After updating my Macs to Photoshop 2017 I am now able to print to all my Epson printers - using Mac OS 10.12 Sierra.  Many thanks to the Adobe team ..... it was a long and frustrating month for all of us.

VER WELL PUT STANLEY.  PLEASE CAN SOMEONE FROM ADOBE ANSWER STANLEY'S QUESTION..... WE HAVE ALL WAITED LONG ENOUGH.  SURELY PS CS6 CLIENTS DESERVE THE SAME RESPECT!

Jeff, Is there a fix for PS CS6?  I don't have CC but my version was fully functional until loading Sierra.  I would hope that CS6 would also be updated as this is a bug fix and not a new feature.

So, we needed to wait 6 weeks so you could release a new bells and whistles version!!!!  Thanks a whole lot Adobe, especially with the "we expect a fix soon" and all along it was waiting for an all new bunch of bells and whistles (with likely new things broken in the process?).

Not a happy camper!!!

Tested new PS 2017 with my Epson Stylus Pro 3880 and Expression XP-630 printers with the latest MacOS 10.12 Sierra drivers (9.33 and 9.60 respectively). I am pleased to report that (after 6 weeks long wait) I can now print again. Thank you.

Adobe don't let this happen again - people are playing too much for a poor service. How about a refund for all Creative Cloud subscribers?
