P: Not printing in macOS 10.12 Sierra

Installed OS-X Sierra and now Photoshop 15.5.1 crashes when attempting to print. Print dialogue opens and settings can be modified, but when attempting to print PS crashes perhaps 9 out of 10 attempts. Most frustrating. I'm printing to an Epson 7890, but I have seen the same issue cited for Canon. Adobe support told me that Photoshop has not been tested on Sierra, but in reality Adobe has had Sierra for months and have even published known issues. I pay a ton of money for this thing to work and this nonsense from support is very annoying.

When I cleared my system printing settings it deleted my custom power driver so it wasn't showing me the correct drop down menus in Apple Preview. I've just re-set it up and now its showing all the correct things like Set up and color matching thats where the hick ups were.

Thank god at least I can print this way though I'm still super peeved at Adobe for this!

Thanks Mark!

In Apple Preview? You would be using all the same driver settings, its seems strange all of them are not available in all programs. Are you sure there is just some dropdown menu you are missing?

I've tried the workaround but I cannot use most of them as I use my Ricoh printer for sublimation and there are VERY specific printing settings that are setup in photoshop that would be impossible to replicate in other programs and take much longer than 30 seconds with workarounds in photoshop.

First of all, most Adobe phone support is useless, they only know the basics. Look back in this thread, there are several workarounds to use to continue printing, just not directly out of Photoshop. It really only adds less then 30 seconds to the whole workflow.

I'm having the same exact issue, spent 2 hours chatting with Adobe support after they sent me the generic link to delete drivers and re-install still not working. They did a screen share with my computer and the guy just asked me the same questions again...when does it crash? Like we were literally talking for 2 hours before the screen share...anyway I demonstrated it to him and he said and i quote "This is a known issue and will probably be fixed in the next update"....WHAT probably? Next update? when will that be? I run my own business and photoshop is essential to what I do and I have not been able to do any work today. I'm seriously looking into alternatives because Adobe is costing me money and loosing me money.

Any update on when Adobe will update photoshop to print using Mac OS Sierra 10.12.1. I believe its coming up on a month and the bug is still not fixed. Totally unacceptable for a professional product like Photoshop.

I have continuing printing problem with PS crashing using Epson SC P600 when printing photos.  I raised the issue on 21st Oct with Adobe and followed guidance, reloaded drivers on iMac, OS is 10.12.1 BUT problem still exist.  When will this get fixed?

I need a free month as currently paying for an app that doesn't meet its primary purpose is fraud - isn't the program called "Photo" shop?

Jeffrey, I understand the challenges of product management in the epicenter of a bad bug.  But you are adding to the problem [and frustration] by an immature lack of communications.

Your 'official release" doesn't solve the problem.

Perhaps you would give some consideration to the following:

(a) very open and honest communications, like answers to the following questions:
      - has your development team created a fail-case (either 100% or partial)
      - if not, then ask your users, we all have a vested interest in getting this solved, some have their livelihood tied to it

(b) setup a small user team to do very early, rapid turn around, testing of bug fixes

(c) describe the general area of code that your suspect is causing the problem, we can all stomp around in it and see if we can get you and other symptoms or leads.

Every few days or so the question crosses my mind, "Hey, I wonder if I can update to MacOS Sierra yet." Then I quickly open the page that I have book-marked to this thread and optimistically jump to the last page, only to find that (correct me if I'm wrong) there's been absolutely no progress in finding a  cure  solution for such a widespread bug. I'll check back again soon!
