P: Object Selection very slow response Photoshop 23.5

Current latest PS version is 23.5

And Object Selection is really slow.

It wasn't like this until the early version of PS 2022, but it's getting slower and at 23.5, it's really weirdly slow.

I thought there might be a speed difference between turning on and off the option, so I compared it, but the results were the same.

Precise previews for 16bit document on/off

Native canvas on/off

Multithread compositing on/off

Use Graphic Processor on/off

Image Processing- Select Subject(Device , Cloud) : I don't know if this affects object selection, but I tried changing options.

The size of the test image below is really small. 1000px x 667px (sRGB, 8bit document)

The reason why I tested it with a small image was because I thought it was because of the large image and the number of layers.

But if you look at the gif image below, you can see a huge difference in loading and speed

This is Photoshop 23.5's object selection.

Even though the end is cut to meet the gif capacity, the loading time in front is long. Once again, the test image is very small.

And Now this is Photoshop 21.0.3's object selection. you can check this...

Can you see the difference? It's a big difference.

This is the difference in speed that appears even though the image used in the test is really small.
In the actual working image (6000x8000px), there is a loading as if the computer had stopped a little bit.
It's the same if you try to select a very small, very simple part of a real image, not a lot of it.

This needs to be improved Speed or delay. In fact, the masking quality of those two images was almost the same.

Although 2022 has been used since October last year, it seems that it has rarely been successful using the Object Selection tool.
It crashes and the photoshop goes off, or it's slow to pick........

In this way, the official release page also contains a large number of content related to the Object selection tool. But I'm scared to use it, or I'm slow to crash.......
I've experienced everything from the early version of 2022 to the current 23.5, but I don't think there's a version that gives me a satisfactory experience......................

I wish I had seen this article earlier, but I thought my photoshop got weird, so I reinstalled Photoshop 3 times and Reinstall WindowsOS.................
Then, is there any Build realease that can use the object selection tool in PS2022?
Except for 23.5, they couldn't use it at all because of the crash..............Should I use 2021?

Not yet fixed. NVIDIA drivers have not been released since 516.94..

I started subscribing to the fast speed and accuracy of object selection and select subject in 2022, but I am not satisfied. Crash or too slow...It's too far from what I saw in the commercial.........

What I'm experiencing up to now for me, and everyone.

First of all, Nvidia graphics and photoshop seem to be the cause of bugs in the last two or three weeks, not just this thread right now.
It is said that it has been changed to CPU processing to mitigate the crash of the object selection tool and the select subject, but the crash still occurs.
It is slow like the gif I attached to the text, or it causes a crash (I sent the crash report 7 times today as well).
I think it's very unstable now.... Since I have a habit of saving frequently, I can run Photoshop again even if there is a crash. I can't trust Photoshop to work on it... =
Even the setting folder was manually reset 7 times today... lol

I thought it little fix crash from version 23.5, but it wasn't...

@Yukie Takahashi  Then do we have to wait for the new NVIDIA graphics driver to be released? Or do I have to wait for the photoshop release?
In addition to the problem related to this object selection tool, there are currently bugs reported that the scrubby zoom is not working or the GPU is used a little bit.

I would appreciate it if you could let me know the approximate date of the next release. I'm just tired of checking for updates every day and checking for new solutions in the Adobe community.

@Yukie Takahashi Could you kindly clarify if this is an issue with any and all Nvidia graphics cards, so we can better advise users? Thanks!

This needs to be fixed quickly.
And @Yukie Takahashi  23.4 is broken version as i know. 23.4 version creates a data loss (serious damage) in the image.
We can use an earlier version, such as 23.4.1 or 23.4.2 or 23.3.2, but cannot even press the W key at all. Photoshop crashes as soon as you press w.

From 23.0.2 to 23.4.2, object selection tool and select subject were rarely used. Because of the crash,
At 23.5, less crashes (still occurs), but at a difficult level of processing speed.
So I understand your intention to recommend a rollback, but the rollback within the 2022 version is an extension of the contents of this thread, which is meaningless.
If you are going to roll back, you have to roll back to 2021 or 2020. 2022 is not available due to crash

For those who are really struggling with the speed, you could switch back to Ps 23.4, if the other updates are less important for you. Nvidia driver has a bug that is causing PS to crash while using the Object Selection Tool and Select Subject so we moved the processing to CPU in order to reduce the number of crashes while Nvidia tries to fix the bug. Again we are actively working on this to improve the situation. Thank You for your patience!
