P: Open Recent File while the currently-focused document has an active selection but is not working

I just recently noticed that if I'm working on a file, and say I have an active Text selection, and then I go and try to open a new document or an existing file, I cannot; the options are muted, but the Open Recent File option is not, however choosing an item from that list does nothing. Also while you have an active text selection, you cannot drag and drop (alternative way of opening an existing file) into the App's work area, even the edges.

I'm using PS CC with an active subscription.

Okay, I'll log a bug to have this grayed out in modal state.  I may get push-back based on the argument "users might want to see what documents they recently opened" but I agree that it should be unavailable.

Thanks for reporting this, Steve.

I think what Steve is saying is that Open Recent should be dimmed to show it's unavailable (because selecting it does nothing)

Howdy Steve,

This is correct behavior.  While you're entering Text, Photoshop is in a modal state and much of the rest of the application is unavailable (or should be) until you complete that operation.

Does that make sense?

Thanks,
David
