P: Perspective Warp upside down [2023]

There seems to be an issue with Photoshop 2023, which the Perspective Warp tool makes the images appear upside down. It is only after approval that the images resume their orginal position. ie Correct way up.

What is going on?

Hi. And how much did that cost you? A new (quality) graphics card can put you back several hundred USDollars.

The malfunction/bug is still affecting Transform Warp, Perspective Warp, and Puppet Warp, for PsCC 24.2.1 release. The workaround applying a blank mask only works for Transform Warp and Puppet Warp, at least for me.

I doubt (very much) this malfunction/bug has anything to do with graphics cards, seeing that it's a random occurence, apparently; my opinion..

Yes, mask workaround does help, however next thing i did was finally upgraded my gpu - from Quadro K620 i jumped to Quadro T600 and after that no more issues with warping! (v24.2.1). So yea, here's some clue. Thanks 🙂

Hi whenever I use Warp tool the edited images turns upside down. I have seen several articles mentioning the exact issue as well. I am using Quadro K2200. When can I expect this issue to be fixed?

Thanks for the workaround! It fixed the upsidedown warping issue.

This has been discussed several times in this thread, but for those who are impatient, busy or just don't know bother browsing through and read old posts in this thread, here we go once again:

I don't think anyone should advice people to use "Older GPU mode (2016)" because that will just cause Photoshop to use CPU software rendering thus slowing Photoshop down drastically.

The best way is to simply just "Add a blank (white) layer mask to the layer you need to warp". And yeah, thats it! Now you can warp and use the mask or not use the mask and it works just fine, as simple as that! See below example of a white mask on a layer I want to warp:

Since this works perfectly, we can clearly see that the problem is not at all about any "older hardware" or any "older GPU physics" at all, but is just a common bug introduced with changes in PS version 24.1.X and it looks like the bug is still there is 24.2.0 but lucky us, the above fix still works.

Grazie a tutti.

Hello!
It seems there is an isue with some users with that function.

Can you try to turn off that function in the preferences and see if it works?

You'll need to close Photoshop and open it again...

Sorry I tried Google translate in italian, no idea if that works 🙂

You can read my messages in italian with the tranlator included in this forum (bottom of my message)

@Helma0D45
I am assuming you are looking for "Older GPU mode (2016)" checkbox.
The 'Technology Previews' is the 2nd to last option, from the bottom of the list on the left side of the Preferences panel.
