P: Photoshop 22.0: Where is Line Weight/Width and Pixels options?

I'm having trouble using the Line Tool in PS 22.0.0.

How do I set the width/weight of the line? In PS 21 there was a "Weight" option along the top bar, but I don't see that anymore. Am I missing it? Or did it move?

This might be a separate issue, but the lines I'm drawing are not showing up. I have a fill color and stroke color selected, but when I make a line, I don't see it. I just see a blue outline of where it is... the same that might happen if I made a "path" instead of a "shape."

I just need to make a line with a width/weight of 20px.

I don't understand why in version 22.0.0 the Tool line is no more effective in pixel? Every others shapes can, but not the tool line? Why, I'm unsing it a lot in pixel, if I have to have a layer for every line I do... Not really cool, can I have an answer about it?

If that's the case, Adobe has stopped listening to their users!

Is it this subscription thing that made them so ignorant to users? In that case, let me buy a full version for full price and run it as long as it runs on my computer. At this point, I'm almost going back to CS5, as it was a decent version! Still think I have the disc. But with my luck it won't run on Catalina. Guess I can reinstall Mac OSX very old verison to get it to run.

Stop listening to cheap, dumb people, start listening to the pros!!!!

*davearcade Hear, hear. This is ridiculous. This should've been fixed weeks ago!

My worst fears are they aren’t actually fixing it, just giving it time to sink in.
It is absurd, this not a new tool, it was already functional on the previous version and it keeps being on the current one its just deactivated.
Why are we not given an ETA?

Yeeeep. I've said my piece on this forum and another multiple times already... but this issue has been going on a solid month. Maybe more? This is absurd for such a basic every day tool that they robbed us of. We deserve a time frame.

I’m glad this is going to be fixed yet we weren’t given any ETA whatsoever.

What worries me the most it’s that I cannot trust on Adobe anymore. I had to buy a different software to keep working while I keep paying for my Adobe subscription. I had to spend extra money to get a tool I need to work, a tool I was already paying for.

Needless to say I don’t have time to learn how to install an old version of PS. I need a software that let me work on my projects effortlessly, I can’t lose time solving problems.

I believe no feature should be removed without surveying your customer base or at least letting them know this is something that it’s going to happen and why. So we can raise our voices or find a solution beforehand.

I hope Adobe address this and from now on let their customer base know how the software is evolving and what should be expected from it.

Thank you.

So I just found a YouTube video on this and I have to say that this change is very bad.  Adobe should have the option of a Legacy Line Tool.

The video showed the option of using the pencil tool, but that just like the new Line tool disappears when I click for a new line tool or click on another layer.

Doing an everyday task but it is not working.  I choose the line tool and choose the color red.  I cannot find the button to add an arrow.  The complete bar at the top is different.  I draw the line and it is a different color.  If I click to a different layer the line disappears, it only shows when clicked on the line layer.

Admittedly this is the first time doing this in the newest version 22.0.1 and the previous update.

Thank you in advance,

Tom

oof, sorry to hear that.  There is no way they would make an exception if an update is bugged or introduces major workflow issues?  That seems problematic outside of a perfect world.  Hopefully Adobe fixes it soon.

Delivered as part of Photoshop 2021.

Turns out, as idiosyncratic as the former line tool was, there were plenty of useful applications for it, and we are investigating how to support both two point lines and rectangular lines.
