I have a macbook and just recently updated from PS 2025 to PS 2026. I noticed I couldn't see any of my PSD files within the PS app, but I could see the files in my creative cloud. When I tried to create a new doc and save it, all I could see was a black screen without any prompts. I'm not sure what to do so if anyone's experiencing the same thing and has an answer PLEASE lmk.

Hi all,

We haven’t received a response from any of you regarding the debug session for this issue, and our team is still actively investigating it and looking for more details. We’ve observed that for some users, disconnecting their VPN resolved the problem.

For others, the following steps helped:

  • Quit Photoshop and the Creative Cloud desktop app completely.
  • Go to follwoing locations and rename the UXP folder to something like this UXP.old:
     - Windows: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\UXP to UXP_backup
     - macOS: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/UXP to UXP_backup
  • Restart Creative Cloud, then launch Photoshop and test again.
  • If the issue is resolved, please share the old folder with us for further investigation.

Please let us know if any of these steps were helpful for you.

Regards,

Srishti

It is 11-15-2026, and this is still happening!  Thanks for the 11-4-2025 tip to enable the legacy file export.  But in truth, end users should not have to figure this sort of thing out for themselves.

Hi all,

Thank you for your time and patience. It looks like we need to troubleshoot this directly on your machine. Please send me a DM (Click on my name to open my profile and then send me a message) with your email address and your preferred time slot. I’ll arrange a live session with the Photoshop product team where we’ll try to recreate the issue and collect the necessary logs from your system.

The more users who sign up for this, the better our chances of identifying and correcting the error. Looking forward to your DMs!

Regards,

Srishti

This is definitely an Adobe issue, not a Mac issue. The reason is being PS
was working just fine before updating to PS 2026. Going back to older
version after that still didn’t resolve the current issue which is the back
screen (amongst other things). As a freelance graphic designer, this is
going to effect my ability to even create altogether.

After updating to the latest beta (mostly because I wanted to test the updated generative expand), I've found out that I can't access the page with my cloud files, or save to cloud.

I can still access the cloud files from my home screen (that's working just fine), it's the inability to save to cloud that annoys me.

The screen of "My files" is simply blank, and while trying to save to Cloud, the UI tries to load content, but then appears blank as well.

I update the beta version regularly, and I've never had this happen. The easiest solution is obviously to revert back (and really, really hope this is just related to the beta and that I'm not screwed, losing access to all my cloud stuff), but I would like to find out the culprint and keep the latest beta, if possible.

I have the latest updates on Windows 11.

Well, looks like I am actually screwed, because simply reverting to the older version didn't help... the cloud screen is still blank.

When I save  my work on the newly updated (as of today) 2026 photoshop, the save panel pops up and is gray, blank.

I have no way of saving my work... well done on the update. Glad you're testing these before sending them out to us... clap clap.

Hey, @Virtual Histories. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I'll help you figure this out.

Please launch Photoshop from the Creative Cloud desktop app, and go to Edit > Preferences > File Handling > Check the box for 'Enable legacy save-as' & restart Photoshop; you can reverse this change & uncheck the box after opening the Legacy Save window once.

Let me know if it helps. Thanks!

Nate, can you see the PSDs in Finder, when Finder is set to show Icons?

Did this issue crop up right after upgrading to Ps 27.0?

Try resetting preferences. [one of the easiest ways is in PS 2025>Settings>General, click the Reset Preferences On Quit, then click Yes to confirm your choice. Also, consider saving pref]

I just noticed the issue right after updating from the latest version of PS
2025 I believe to PS 2026. I’ll try your suggestion, but yeah it’s
literally a blank screen.

Clicking the home screen button in Photoshop shows my recently opened files. If I go to "Your files", however, does show blank screen.

I have the same problem on Windows 11 (latest updates, this can't have anything to do with "outdated system"), it just started happening with the latest beta...

I can obviously just revert (I hope), but I would prefer to keep the new generative expand options, so I wonder if anybody found a solution for this?
