P: Photoshop CC 19.1 - UI doubled in size (Win 10)

Hello. My entire Photoshop layout has doubled in size with this new update; it looks like it's in Windows Safe Mode. Is there a way to fix this? I am currently uninstalling and re-downloading the previous version because my eyes were melting from the bloated interface.Note: This conversation was created from a reply on: Photoshop CC 2018 (19.1) update now available.

Hannah this is not a solution to this problem!!!!

Scaling the UI in accordance with the Windows settings just doesn't work. To get the UI in Photoshop looking correct I have to set my Windows scale factor to 165% which just makes every other app and the OS its self look way too big.

Why can't the team just implement a proper UI scale setting in Photoshop that works independently of Windows?

Failing that why can't the UI scaling work just like it does in Illustrator or In Design? If I set these two apps to scale to the higher supported level they scale fine.

I just can't believe that this still isn't sorted years down the line.

In fact if this doesn't get sorted very soon I'm stopping my subscription to Adobe. Its simply not good enough!!!

I don't think your team fully appreciate how annoying this is. I use Photoshop every single day for quite a few hours and I currently have to run the UI so small it actually hurts my eyes to see it.

PLEASE get this solved ASAP. A proper UI scale in the application or at the very least something like we have in Illustrator. Why didn't Photoshop get the same setting as Illustrator anyway?

One annoyed customer.

I think you have got it the wrong way round! It was the previous versions that didn't size correctly, but now 19.1 does size correctly. If you've got used to the old size, then just change it in 19.1. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater! 😉

Photoshop 19.1 causes this problem; 19.0.1 is OK. I have put a saved photoshop.exe (19.0.1) in the Photoshop folder but renamed it photoshop1.exe. I have made a shortcut on my desktop. It now works but without the 19.1 updates. Windows 8.1/Nvidia 1060/Intel i7 octacore/16GB RAM/1920x1080 monitor/SSD x4

I like the new scaling in Photoshop. I haven't adjusted anything but I can now read the menus etc much more easily. Well done, Adobe. (It's not often I say that)

What is wrong with doing it the same way as the other version except being able to do it more gradually Example Auto/100%/125%/150%/200% in the interface. To go to 200% which takes up most of the work space and down to 100% which you need a magnifying glass to see. I bought a high resolution 27inc monitor for a reason and that was to give me more work space. Windows should not be used to counteract a bad move in Photoshop

Are you running Windows 10 Creators Update? Photoshop 19.1 on the latest version of Windows 10 should solve this problem as it allows variable scaling up to 400% with independent scaling on multiple monitors.

Hi George,

It sounds like you're saying you don't like the UI scaling of Photoshop following the scaling of your OS settings. We appreciate your feedback - it is all taken into account as we go forward.

Thanks,
Hannah

Hi Adrian,

What I suggested isn't for your issue. If you're on 8.1, then Photoshop's preference is the only thing that will change its scaling. In Photoshop, go to Preferences > Interface and then set the UI Scaling to 100%.

Thanks,
Hannah
