Hi there not sure if this is a bug or not but during the upload of the CC 2022 software I was reading the What's New features in Photoshop Feature summary | Photoshop desktop (October 2021 release) (adobe.com)

And it was mentioned that the new version was to have in the Export As the option of outputing an animated GIF. However I only find the static GIF option in version 5.5.9 with the ablity to output a static one frame gif. The only way I can still output animated GIFs is to use the Save for Web Legacy. So I am just wondering if this new feature for "Export As" is really there or not?

Also it does not allow me to output with a transparency, while the Save for Web will.

Even in 2024 on Photoshop 25.3.1. this is still not there. You can howevere "Save a copy" into an animated GIF. Adobe should really have the documentation match the program.

I'm seeing the same thing in the 23.4.1 release. Nothing's changed?

The only way I can output animated GIFs is to use to Export : Save for Web (Legacy).

I'm fine with that as long as it's still is the best way to be saving animated gifs??

Yes, that's true. Although is on the changelog it's not implemented in the actual version. Let's wait for an update.

I've asked engineering to take a look and get the documentation updated if this feature is not in the release.

Do you by chance have "Use Legacy Export As" check under Preferences > Export?
