P: Photoshop "Select Subject" excluding row of pixels along canvas bounds

Since Photoshop 24.2 (and still in 24.3), the "Select Subject" command incorrectly excludes a row of pixels along all canvas edges that the subject touches. When viewing the mask or moving/removing the subject, the missed pixels remain. There is no "apply effect at canvas bounds" preference available with this command whether processed on the device or in the cloud.

I noticed this issue in 24.3 and had to step back three versions to 24.1.1 to get it to behave properly again.

Yes I'm seeing this bug as well, it's really annoying as I do all portrait work with backgrounds that need isolating so have to constantly use the quick select tool to take out the offending line of pixels before refining mask. Can confirm not present in previous versions before 24

Hi Cory, this issue still exists in the new Photoshop 25.0.0 even though it was not present in the Beta versions where generative fill/expand were introduced.

Not a feathered selection. Just the basic Select > Subject, and no issues on 24.1.1.

@JasonBV , That selection looks like it might be a feathered selection (curved edges)? Remove all feathering and try again.

I received an email from Adobe asking if the reply I received was correct. But why was this moved from desktop bugs? It is a bug.

if it is a bug, it's not related to the cc desktop app.  it's related to photoshop where i moved your post so photoshop experts can address your issue.
