When I launch Photoshop, the Splash Screen shows up. Then the app opens and the Splash Screen still shows on Mission Control as an active window. If I click it, it does nothing. If Photoshop window is not minimized, it shows two Photoshop instances. This is driving me nuts! Video attached for reference.
thanks for the info but apparently that issue wasn’t solved either. also it wasn’t really a similar issue- their issue was that the update broke their workspace by opening all tool menus and not being able to close them causing clutter on the monitor.
Update “destroyed” my workspace. All tool windows are open now, there is no possibility any more to minimize them. That means half of the monitor is now cluttered with tool windows...
when opening PS normally - appears an invisible windowwhen opening photoshop using the cmd+opt held for the “reset scratch disks” panel - this changes my adjustments panel into this but the invisible window doesnt appear.
Hi Andrew. How many screens are you using? If just the one, try setting the Workspace (of choice), and then going back in and resetting that same workspace. If not already maximised, then do that. Close and reopen Photoshop and the workspace should fill the screen with (enabled) panels available.
I’m an occasional Mac user, so guessing here, but we can see the ‘Application Frame’ behind your workspace. Go Window > Application Frame, and toggling to the other state.
I’m thinking about your ‘resetting scratch disks’ comment. A good while back there was a Permissions issue with Mac systems and Photoshop, but it was fixed years ago, and that does not look like an old version. Bottom line, Photoshop should reopen in the same state it was closed.
We have had more recent, and repeating, issues with icons not showing in some panels. Mainly the Toolbar and Adjustments. It’s wee while since we last saw that, but does it fit what you are seeing?
If still stuck, hit us with as much information as you can think of. I am sure it is fixable.
so i tried your suggestion and that didnt work either. just to clarify you suggested i reset my preferred workspace then closing and reopening photoshop to then reset the same workspace.
also i am using the application frame in the screenshot, i have the option checked in the Window Menu. but that window is still there.
as for more info, its the latest PS version, 27.4.0, i have one plugin app thats is in the filters menu, when i open PS with third party plugins disabled the window still appears.
As i tried to open photoshop by resetting scratch disk i still get the same invisible window so that issue came back.
there an invisible window in mac os “spaces” for photoshop. it goes away when opening using the “reset scratch disks” panel, but then my adjustments panel is reverted back to the classic view without the option to turn it back.
Thanks for letting us know! We will update here if the team has any questions or if there's a fix we would like to test. Please feel free to add any other updates to this thread. Thanks again for reporting this bug! ^CH
