P: PS 27.7 Safe for Web increased effort in Tab-navigation

I upgraded to Photoshop 27.7 yesterday afternoon and see that the Export>Save for Web interface has been changed. Is it possible to use the legacy interface?

In my previous workflow, exporting to a specific width went like this:
1. Export>Save for Web (Cmd-Shift-Opt-S)
2. Tab 3 times
3. Set width
4. Save file

In the new interface:
1. Export>Save for Web (Cmd-Shift-Opt-S)
2. Tab 16—SIXTEEN—times
3. Set width
4. Save file

Not a deal-breaker, but I do this hundreds of times a week and have for decades. It’s muscle memory, and whatever has been changed doesn’t matter to me in the slightest.

Thanks for your inputs, @Earth Oliver, @MRobertson_NC& @LAMY2017. The team is going through the feedback, and the SFW panel is expected to improve in the future.

Wow, this really is a terrible change in behavior. No one in their right mind wants or needs to tab to every single item in the SFW interface.

Hey, @MRobertson_NC. Thanks for bringing this up.

The Save for web dialogue didn’t have complete Tab-key navigation in the last iteration. The newer, shipping version has fixed that. I can see the trade-off in your specific workflow.

You can press the ALT/OPT key to Remember last used settings for repeated workflows.

    Thanks!

Is there a reason why Adobe has decided that changing 35 years of Tab-Nav is going to benefit us? It’s not like this hadn’t been thought of before and there’s good reason why previous Adobe teams opted to keep the previous Tab-Nav behavior. This really is a big step back for those of us who actually use Tab hundreds or thousands of times every week.

Hey, @Earth Oliver. Let me share this with the team for review. You can list the fields you’d like to be skipped with Tab-key navigation in the SFW window.

    Thanks!

M, I was able to reproduce your 16-tab issue. See below.

I don’t see a setting for setting back to Legacy. It seems to be effected by another setting --

Preferences>Technology Previews>Enable Modern User Interface. Is it checked? Uncheck it, export again.

I was able to Tab three times to get to the Width field with the Interface box unchecked.

    Tab #1: Quality
    Tab #2: Blur

    Tab #3: Width

That works for me as well—thank you!

I looked through the Preferences before asking but completely missed that option.

    It’s arcane, esoteric knowledge. ;-)
