P: PS iPad Type tool Placeholder text doesn’t get removed from memory

So, recently I added Noto Sans Devnagari font to type in Hindi, and to do so I added the text through the Text tool, and it added the dummy text of 'Lorem Ipsum’, but when I tried typing in Hindi, the suggestions always start with word 'Ipsum' added to it.

This issue is not making me type the first word correctly and the only solution from me is to type it in any other app and copy+paste the word in Photoshop. From subsequent words the suggestion works normally.

For the reference I've added a small video of the issue.

@Sameer K

"Ipsum" appears in the suggestions when first typing, then the suggestions are normal after making an edit — even pressing left, then right arrow keys. See my screen shot where I wrote two letters and both suggestions include "Ipsum".

What happens when you do the same? Do you get the results we did or something different?

Photoshop (the app won't allow me to copy and paste the version numbers, so you get a screenshot):

iPadOS: 18.7.1

I've leveled this up to the team. Thanks for sharing the details.

@shailendra_1260

I just tested in Photoshop for iPad in English with Myriad Pro and see the same thing. While "Ipsum" shows up in the suggestions, it is not part of the text I am typing. I found that when I tap the left arrow key on my Magic Keyboard, followed by the right arrow, the suggestions correct themselves.

I agree that this is a Bug and have upvoted your post.

Hey, @shailendra_1260. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. Thanks for raising this issue and for validating it, @jane-e. What version of iPadOS and the exact version of Photoshop iPad are you working with?

Per my understanding, is the placeholder text still in the auto-correct/suggested text field?

I'll share it with the product team once I get the requested info.

Thanks!
