P: PS v27.3.1 Curves duplicated in Properties panel display of Curves Adjustment Layer

Hello Adobe Support Team,

After updating to Photoshop v27.3 and v27.3.1, I encountered an issue when using the Curves adjustment.

When adjusting Curves on the composite RGB channel (not individual R, G, or B channels), if I make an additional adjustment afterward, a residual or ghosted image from the previous adjustment appears. If I switch to another layer and then return to the original layer, the residual image disappears. However, if I continue adjusting the Curves, the ghosting issue reappears.

I tested this behavior by downgrading to Photoshop v27.2, and the issue does not occur in that version. The Curves adjustment works as expected in v27.2 without any residual artifacts.

This issue seems to be specific to v27.3 and v27.3.1 and may be related to how Curves adjustments are refreshed or rendered.

Thank you for your time and support. I hope this information is helpful for identifying and resolving the issue.

Just tested, and I can replicate the issue as well, Photoshop version 27.3.1 on Windows 11

I can replicate this with a curves adjustment layer in 27.3.1 on Windows 11.

To replicate :
a. Add a Curves Adjustment Layer
b. Make an adjustment in properties
c. Switch to another layer
d. Switch back to the curves adjustment layer
e. Adjust the curve in properties

Old and new curves appear in properties

It looks like a bug to me.

At this point I don’t know if ir a bug or a feature, but in any case is quite annoying.

Previous curve still appears when changing it. It started to happen with last update.

Hey, @WillCheung. The team is aware of this behavior. This ties into a recent change. A fix is in development and should arrive soon in Photoshop Beta. Later, followed by Photoshop 2026.

Thanks!

@WillCheung I can’t reproduce this on my machine. Please share your system info and a screenshot or a short video with us.

It’s better to create a new thread about this issue instead of answering on an announcement thread.

@Srishti Bali Do you can move this a new thread into the Photoshop forum. During a fault in the new forum I’m not able to do that. Thanks.

My System: Intel i7-8700K - 64GB RAM - NVidia Geforce RTX 3060 - Windows 11 Pro 25H2 -- LR-Classic 15 - Photoshop 27 - Nik Collection 8 - PureRAW 5 - Topaz Photo
