P: Sample All Layers not remembered in Select and Mask dialog

Hi! There are two annoying bugs in latest December release of PS2020. They were present in initial release, but in PS2019 these two options worked just fine. I hope Adobe folks will address these in next release.

1. In Select and Mask workspace, the Photoshop does not register/remember "Sample All Layers" for quick selection, refine tools etc. Pretty annoying as I have to click each time I am entering this workspace to quick mask anything in the picture.

2. When creating adjustment layer, PS2020 always adds mask layer too, regardless of Layer Panel options>Use default masks on fill layers, which is off in my Photoshop.

Thanks,

This should be fixed in the 21.1 update that went out last night.

I am using MacOS and it has been remembered mostly all times up to 2020, but sometimes it hasn't (no reason why). In 2020 it not remembered at all.

Weird. I tried 2020, 2019 and a version earlier than 2018 and it didn't work on macOS. It does work in 2018. I'll ask engineering to investigate.

Yep. I am retouching using muscle memory and reflexes, so if something doesn't work as before, I will notice it immediately 😉 To be honest in previous versions there were some issues with this settings too, it seem not to be remembered at all times. In PS2020 it is completely broken.

Tested in 2019 (PC) and works there too, so it seems Dominik is completely right here...

Just tested this in PS 2017.1.6 (PC) and indeed it is remembered there. I clicked it and then I checkmarked Remember Settings. When I came back it was indeed active.
Tested once more in 2020 and does not work there.

Well, for me it has worked almost fine in PS 2019 and previous versions too.

For # 1, it doesn't look like this setting is preserved in any version of Photoshop.

(1) Confirmed in 21.0.2 on PC

Yes, you are right, I have forgotten the Adjustments palette with this "Add Mask by Default" setting. Now this works fine!
