@lisa_wandrei Totally agree. This surely can't have been removed intentionally? It's a basic function for any software??

While I greatly appreciate everyone's workarounds with regards to this issue, we do not need more band aid fixes posted as a long term solution. The real problem here is ADOBE IS NOT LISTENING TO US. They need to program this change into the next update. Those of us who have been using PS for years are incredibly frustrated that someone at Adobe found this feature unimportant and wrote it out of the software. And now they are trying to tell us to just get over it and move on. So not okay. Adobe, are you reading this? Damn, if I was in San Jose I would come knocking with a huge sign.

All these years of using keyboard shortcuts religiously for Photoshop and I never knew you could customize and change them. This is exciting.

I used the built in shortcut feature in PS. I made mine control-option-command-S. I like it because it still uses "S" and can be done with one hand.

Keyboard shortcut location:

Photoshop > Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts...

I save as PDF files for certain projects and you can't Export as a PDF unless you work in Artboards, which I do not.

"Quick Export to JPEG" (with keyboard shortcut assigned) is most effective workaround at the moment. See screenshots below:
