When I'm using the Script Listener plugin, it causes a lot of lag. For example, it makes the Pen Tool very slow, to the point where it's unusable. I would like to know if this has been documented, and if there are any solutions, or whether it is simply part of the baggage of the plugin.

Asynchronous writing to the file could be enough.

As Jaroslav states, this is a developer tool and shouldn't be used in a production environment. That said, we're aware of the issue and are looking at ways to make it more efficient.

This is for developers. Users don't need it. It writes in file after each action on your desktop. Until writing is not done, Photoshop can't do anything else. You can simply remove listener file.
