P: Slice Select tool overlay drawing problem

Hello,

it seems that there is a big bug with the "Slice Select Tool", especially with the "Divide" option.
I have a 1792 x 512px image containing 64 x 64px tiles that I want to cut out. When I use the "Divide Slice" and split 64x64 pieces horizontally and vertically with the Preview option enabled. The preview is distorted (specially if the values of are greater in pixels per slice fields at default) and persistent, even when cancelling/closing "Divide" dialog and closing the current document.
The "Divide Slice" option only works if the "Preview" option is not activated.

Regards,

Nico.

This was a Windows only issue.

A fix has been made to the next release that will no longer make selecting 'Disable Native Canvas' necessary.

Cheers.

Perfect, I checked "Disable Native Canvas" into "Preferences > Technology Previews" and restarted. This issue is solved!

BTW: No need to uncheck "Use Graphics Processor" into to "Preferences > Performance"

I can't reproduce:

I suspect it has something to do with the graphics driver.

Try the following two suggestions:

  1. Go to Preferences > Technology Previews... and check "Disable Native Canvas" - then restart Photoshop. Does the problem still occur?
  2. Go to Preferences > Performance... and uncheck Use Graphics Processor. Restart Photoshop. Does the problem persist?

This!

In first, here a simple image 2048x2048px, I want to slice. I select the "Slice Select Tool" > Click on main cut > Divide button in toolbar...

In second screenshot, after I clicked on "Divide" button in toolbar, I get the "Divide Slice" dialog box. If I enable "Preview" option and enter some values lower. The preview mode bugs... event if I closed by cancel button the dialogbox...

The cuts are still here, even if I create a new blank document 😞

Thanks,

Regards

Nicolas.

Can you post a screenshot of what you are seeing? Are you using the slice tool in Photoshop or inside the Save For Web dialog?
