P: Smart Filter Gaussian Blur/Blending Options Creating Halo

I created a Smart Object containing white text on a transparent background. The Smart Object has a .5 px  Gaussian Blur applied as a Smart Filter. The blending options of the Smart Filter are set to Mode: normal, Opacity: 40%. If I edit the contents of the Smart Object (for example, change the position of the text) the Smart Object creates a dark halo around the text when it updates. If I edit the Smart Filter's blending options to reapply the same settings the halo disappears. It's a major drag to have to reapply the blending options anytime I update my smart object. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Jeremy

Thanks for the steps to reproduce. I've logged an issue for an engineer to investigate.

I've been able to recreate this issue as follows:
1) Create a 500 x 500 px 72 dpi document.
2) Fill the background with red to help emphasize the halo.
3) Add a line of text on a new layer at font color white,  size 100 pt.
4) Convert the layer to a Smart Object.
5) Blur the Smart Object with a Smart Filter, .5 Gaussian blur.
6) Change the blending options of the Smart Filter to 40% opacity.
(this is what the text should look like)
7) Edit the contents of the Smart Object. Move the text up a few pixels. Save the changes.
😎 Smart Object now has a slight dark halo.

9) Edit blending options of the Smart Filter with original settings (40% opacity).
(removes halo)

The halo is more pronounced when I import into After Effects and then export with a straight alpha. There is no halo if I bring it into After Effects before step 7 or after step 9.

Thanks.

works fine here. You should probably include all your specs.
