P: Snap does not work when resizing proportionally

To resize proportionally, one has to hold down the Shift key while moving a corner handle.
Unfortunately, this disables the snapping to smart guides: when view>snap guides is active, resizing a layer is supposed to auto-align to the edges of other layers, but it is not the case when doing it from a corner handle while holding down shift, a common practice.

Shift-resizing a middle handle does respect the wanted snapping behavior.

CTRL is the shortcut supposed to disable snapping, not Shift.

after this many years and still not fixed or proposed a proper solution?
Sure, let's give us more AI and no modern effects.

Still not sure why this is still not fixed and or added. Not even sure this is considered a "feature" request. What can we do to get this changed/adjusted/added in the next Photoshop update?

@psteamscribe I hope you realize that at this point, with still no resolution to this issue, no one has any trust or respect for Adobe, or you. That's not an insult - that's me telling you the temperature of the room in hopes that you hold yourself accountable, because obviously Adobe will not.  (The fact that they won't hold you accountable is why they have no trust or respect.)  You think everyone just wants more AI features, but what we really want is an app which works the way we think it should.  You have failed to give us what we want.  You are a "quality engineer" but you are not living up to providing the quality we desire.

@aqdrk Not sure why this is "embarrassing". It's a feature request that didn't make it.

See the reply from  psteamscribe from 2020:

"According to the code, this was actually the way Transform was originally designed, way back in the day. The proportional case NEVER snapped. So this is not technically a bug, but rather an old design choice".

It snaps correctly when moving edges independently. Makes sense.

It does not snap when aspect ratio is constrained. Again, that makes sense to me. The edges are now locked to each other, so you could end up with 1 pixel off in opposite directions. Which one should take precedence?

If you do need the resized shape to snap, the move tool will do that once transform is executed.

Wow, figured I just didn't know how to do something and come to find this. As a software engineer it's wild this has been open this long. Please add this message to the pile.

I don't know if acknowledging the bug somehow also marks it as complete, but if any adobe engineers use their own products, surely they would come across this on a monthly basis at the very least. It's been well over a decade, and I still can't resize snap while maintaining the aspect ratio.

Please fix this. If not regarded as a basic feature, call it a quality-of-life feature. Clearly people are asking for it.

@psteamscribe This is still not fixed, honestly unacceptable for the amount we pay Adobe per year

11....years..... this is just absolutely sad. How many times have they said "we're looking into it" & "the bug will be fixed..." People are paying a good amount of money for these programs, and this is such a small fix that would have a major impact. Probably a 5 minute fix....but aparently that takes over 11 years, who knows if it will ever happen. Super disappointing and frusturating. Come on Adobe.....
