When will this bug be fixed? Just today I lost about an hours worth of work due to this bug.

Same here. Photoshop locks up under the following conditions: I select mixer brush. Paint with mixer brush. I seem to be safe do just about anything at this point with no crashes, including flatten my layer down to another layer, switch tools, etc.  EXCEPT, if I create a layer mask, the program locks up in a way that seems to be unrecoverable. No error is thrown. Would love a fix for this.

Mac OS X, latest version.

I have the same issue here. Photoshop hangs after using mixer brush and then selecting layer mask. When is the fix coming? It's impossible to work now.

Does it crash or just freeze (those are two very different behaviors)?

My photoshop freezes every time i'm trying to use it.
I have more than 50Gb of free space on my disk and can't find any reason to have such problem. it doesn't related to some specific step. I mean it happens absolutely randomly. No any errors or any message from PH.
How is it possible to fix it? Thanks

I faced with the bug of Photoshop after the last update
Today the second time when Photoshop start do not respond and I can't continue retouching before I don't kill the process.
If I could somehow see the log, please add information and I will attach the log.

We can reproduce now. There is a bug logged for engineering to investigate. Thanks.

Then it hangs? Only way I can get out of it is by going into task manager and killing the program. I've tried holding down the Esc key and ive tried waiting to see if it comes back. it just stops responding entirely.

Crashing and hanging/freezing are two completely different behaviors.

If an application crashes, you will get a crash report dialog of some form.
