P: Turning off Key Repeat in System Preferences causes 0 (zero) key to always change opacity to 0%
OS: Mac OS X 10.8.5
Photoshop Version: CC 14.1.2 x64, although this has been happening for at least a few point releases, perhaps longer.
Issue: Setting Key Repeat in the System Preferences to Off results in buggy behavior with layer opacity and brush opacity shortcut.
Steps to reproduce:
- Go to System Preferences, then to Keyboard
- Under the Keyboard tab, go to Key Repeat, and slide the slider to Off.
- Go to Photoshop CC and open or create a new document.
- Select a layer or create a new layer with some visible content in it.
- Make sure the current tool is not a brush based tool; the marquee or move tools are good tools to select at this point.
- Select the newly created layer in the Layers pallet
- Press the 0 (zero) key on the keyboard once. The layer's opacity will change to 0%
Normally, pressing 0 (zero) once sets the layer opacity to 100%, and pressing the 0 (zero) key twice sets the layer opacity to 0%. However, when the Key Repeat is set to Off, the 0 (zero) key will always set the current layer opacity to 0% regardless of how many or how few times it is pressed.
