I have been having this annoying problem for several weeks now. None of the solutions on the internet work at all. If this is your first time reading about this problem, these are the solutions I've seen so far (none of them is a real solution, each one causes other problems):

- Uncheck "Use graphics processor" in the performance tab in configuration. Result: It disables the rotating canvas features for Wacom tablets after a couple of minutes or just instantly.
- Check "Deactivate native canvas" and/or "Older GPU Mode (pre 2016)" in technology previews tab. Result: It becomes absurdly lagged, it is useless to work, just moving the canvas makes it go at 1fps.

I also have all my drivers updated (GPU, Windows, Wacom), PS updated, and with priority for the GPU. Is there any real solution for this? I have an RTX 3080 8 GB. This should not happen.

hi as mentioned i've disabled graphics acceleration, the problem then is that... well. graphics acceleration is disabled, the experience is incredibly choppy and all the rest of it, it removes one problem to introduce another. if thats the solution then as stated i'd rather use a third party application like Pureref, though naturally it cant be a complete replacement - this doesnt mean this issue shouldnt be fixed.

Dont get me wrong, my rant wasn't against you. Obviously. Its about adobe, The pre 2016 trick worked for me. My issues is that you even need to do that in a software owned by a company that makes billions on our backs and has a quasi monopoly on the market. They introduce gimmicks and mostly inefficient AI marketing bs while ignoring the stability of their products. I've left lightroom for capture one years ago, left Premiere for Resolve and now I am happy to ditch this scam of a company for Affinity or any other software.

@uesixso it seems like NVIDIA driver fixed the problem for me after one of those recent updates was installed. Can't believe we've been waiting so long for the fix.

I haven't nneded to do that to sort your problem - have you tried disabling GPU Compositing under Prefs > Performance > Graphics Settings > Advanced Settings ?

Got this problem right now. The fact that I need to check an option for pre 2016 gpus on an RTX 4070 says a lot on adobe's work...I have more than enough from all this company and its [cursing removed], from the subscription [abuse removed, to the very poor soft optimisations, to the price increases.

Having been user of PS since ver 5 I have only seen this once. The cause was a conflict with the video card driver. Have you looked at Conflicts/Sharing under System Information? If I recall you have a RTX 40xx video card. Should be able to resolve quickly.

I gave up on this getting fixed. It's essentially just part of my workflow now. Lol

User: "Your software doesn't work properly, can you help me?"

Adobe: "Did you try resetting your preferences? oh you did? well hey forget about all those silly bugs that have been around for years now, look at all this new magical AI stuff!!... BTW we are increasing our subscription prices.. lol"
