P: Wia Support Failing Version 19.1

I have just upgraded to Photoshop CC2018 19.1. This is on Windows 10 Enterprise.

On trying to import from a scanner I get the error after the scanner has run.

- I have tried uninstalling including all settings and then re-installation
- Using two different scanners, a Canon and an Epson

To get scanning to work again I have downgraded to version 19.0.1

Same problem. Two Brother scanners, both give the path message from PS CC WIA support. I don't want to go back to a previous version, the smooth brush is too valuable an asset for me. Scanners work fine with ACDSee or CS5 but it's a pain in the ass to switch out of CC every scan. Do fix this bug guys!

Yes, I found that first and my wife speaks Jaoanese so she could explain, but then I found this thread also! Yes, absolutely no problems with scanning in Photoshop CC 2017.

I have the same problem after upgrading to Photoshop CC 2018 yesterday.

Vuescan came with my scanner. For what I am doing it’s not really suitable as I am using Photoshop to batch process a number of photos at once via series of Macros.

I am using Vuescan and it is not affected by this bug. I really never use WIA because of the limited functions. I know others do and suggesting  a paid answer doesn't always set well.

It's something to think about if rolling back to 19.0.1 or waiting for a release isn't a good thing and  you can afford it. The one-time payment covers 5 PCs or Macs.

Mac's own WIA counterpart "Images from Device" is working fine.
