Photoshop 26.1 Crashing With Remove Tool

The new Photoshop 26.1 crashes when using the Remove Tool. More specifically, when the "Removing Area" loading bar appears, the application closes before it completes. I tested with the AI mode both "on" and "off", and the issue occurred in both cases. The crash is not immediate, as the tool sometimes works without problems, but the error has been consistently recurring across multiple files.
I'm running Photoshop on MacOs Sequoia with a M2 Mac. On preferences, changing the Remove Tool Processing from "Faster" to "More Stable" didn't make any difference on the issue.

    Since the last update to Photoshop 26.2.0 it seems that the problem was solved

    Still happening for me with the update today.  HOWEVER, it seems to only happen if/when multiple files are open.

      They don't care about current issues and bugs. All they care about is launching new AI features.

        In my recent comments, I told you all that I reverted to version 26. But even 26 is now being soooooo bad!!! This is bloody disgusting, and Adobe hasn't even came up with any fix!!!

          Hope I'm not jumping the gun here, but just updated photoshop a few mins ago (Friday 13th @17110578.00am, a scarey omen), and strangely still version 26.1.0? but appears to be working - for now! Good luck people.

           

          UPDATE: So sorry... I lied. It 'WAS' wishful thinking. I went 42 minutes without a crash which is something I guess!

          Abruptly crashing when double-clicking a layer to open effects. Will be reverting to an older version.

          PS 26 and 26.1 / Windows 10

          so ....heres a thing 

          I've had this happening to me on my 2023 MAc Studio M2 max 64 GB. running. sonoma 14.7.1 
          with a Samsung SSD as a scratch disk 

          files are fairly  big  1- 2 gb    12k px 

          multiple crashes on remove tool 

          BUT been testing it on my Mac Pro Laptop M2 MAx 64 GB aslo running sonoma 14.7.1 
          using the mac internal HD as scratch 
          And its not crashing - at all 

          so I'll now test the studio without the SSD as scratch - and report back tomorrow ..........
