Photoshop shuts down over a specific piece of text

Originally I copied and pasted from a client’s document to mine in Photoshop. The problem text includes these words: Post Office. Any attempt at changing the font for those words leads to the app shutting down. It doesn’t appear to be font related because no matter what other font I select, the app shuts down. No other word within that paragraph is affected as I have been able to change those, no problem. I’ve tried restarting. I’ve tried manually typing in the word rather than a copy and paste. I tried a new page containing those words. I’ve tried clearing the font cache and a few others and nothing has worked. It’s the same thing. It always shuts down.

Can you delete those words and any preceding or following spaces /punctuation, then retype them. I’m wondering if that text has some hidden characters.

Tried that. copied and pasted the same paragraph of text into other applications other than photoshop and I was able to change the font without that app crashing so it makes me think it’s a Photoshop issue. I typed the entire paragraph manually in Photoshop to see if that worked and it still crashed.

I’m really puzzled with this. I’ve tried here with v27.9.1 and the Beta v27.11 (I do not have v27.10 installed due to its colour management issues. I couldn’t reproduce your issue in either version.
Have you tried resetting preferences? The preference files contain more than just user set preferences and are saved every time Photoshop closes. Corruption can lead to strange symptoms. Back them up first so you can restore them if there is no positive impact.
