Smart Sharpen bug in 2025

On a reasonable sized file if you try to do a smart sharpen it just hangs. Its not frozen, if you come back in 3-5 minutes the zoom may have finally changed. Its not redrawing correctly and painfully slow

 

Same file etc in previous versions has no delays.

    It just hung my Photoshop (v26.11) by opening the Smart Sharpen filter - doesn't show as a frozen app in my Applications but nothing has happened for 5 minutes, and I'm unable to escape/quit/anything - I'd just spent an hour cleaning up motifs so very frustrating.

    @photomadnz smart sharpen is working fine for me with Photoshop version 26.0, have you tried manually resetting your Photoshop preferences
