Type Tool Lagging on Apple M2 Max

Hey, I'm new to Photoshop. I'm on version 26.0.0 on an M2 Macbook Pro Sequoia 15.0.1 OS. 

Everything runs pretty smooth, but the Type Tool has become a real pain. 

Searching through the fonts, especially when using the 'More From' section, is incredibly laggy. It's laggy to the point where I cannot use it without it being incredibly frustrating. 

When I type, there's a noticable delay between me pressing the key and the type appearing on the canvas. 

Is there any way that this can be fixed?
