Unable to select multiple layers with CTRL+Click+drag

I am no longer able to select multiple layers by using CTRL+Click and dragging over the layers that I want to select all at once. I must now CTRL+Click each individual layer which slows down the process immensely.

Hi @Ruben_Vazquez1944, as far as I know, Photoshop has never supported “Ctrl+Click and drag” in the Layers panel. I think you are talking about Shift+Click and drag? The options are:

    Shift+Click for contiguous range

Ctrl+Click each layer for non-contiguous (no drag equivalent)

Ctrl+Alt+A to select all layers at once

Or, maybe you are talking about using the Move Tool? If so, in the Options bar at the top, enable Auto-Select and set it to Layer.

Correct, I mean using it in the canvas with the move tool selected. I normally have auto-select turned off and have been able to ctrl+click+drag to select all the unlocked layers that I drag over with the marquee to select them all together.

I’ve tried toggling the setting for the move tool as well as resetting the preferences and it hasn’t resolved the issue.

Okay, thanks for that extra information. Did this just start happening when you updated from 27.10 to 27.11? Does it happen with any image that has layers or only this one?
