A bug in editing a Premiere Audio Clip in Audition

I send it to Audition to convert a stereo recording into mono (because Audition’s stereo mixing feature is nice).

But when I save it and I’m back in Premiere, the new MONO clip only plays in one side!

I know this is a bug because it gets fixed whenevver I do something with the clip like stretching or trimming it.

Hi @Luis Azcona,

Thanks for reaching out. The fact that trimming or stretching the clip temporarily fixes the playback is interesting. We need a few more details to help with the investigation. Please see: How do I report a Problem?

In the meantime, could you let us know:

What version of Premiere and Audition are you on?
What OS?
Does this happen every time you use Edit in Audition, or only when converting stereo to mono specifically?

Premiere version: My Premiere is always updated but it’s been happening in the previous versions too
I’m on iOS Sonoma 14.6.1
No not everytime, and yes only when I perform stereo to mono in Audition.

I forgot to mention: So I return to Premiere with just one side playing, I then go to “Audio Channels” to check the R/L boxes - right there the waveform gets fixed. But the sound is not. It’s only when I stretch the clip, then play it stretched (now it’s fixed), and then undo the stretch. That is my workaround

im not sure if this helps but my microphone/interface is Zoom H8. It has an XY microphone (naturally stereo). i connect it to my laptop through its MultiTrack interface mode
