A bug in editing a Premiere Audio Clip in Audition

I send it to Audition to convert a stereo recording into mono (because Audition’s stereo mixing feature is nice).

But when I save it and I’m back in Premiere, the new MONO clip only plays in one side!

I know this is a bug because it gets fixed whenevver I do something with the clip like stretching or trimming it.

    Hi @Luis Azcona

Thanks for reaching out. The fact that trimming or stretching the clip temporarily fixes the playback is interesting.  We need a few more details to help with the investigation. Please see: How do I report a Problem?

In the meantime, could you let us know:

    • What version of Premiere and Audition are you on?
    • What OS?
    • Does this happen every time you use Edit in Audition, or only when converting stereo to mono specifically?

Sorry for the frustration. I hope we can help get this sorted.

    • Premiere version: My Premiere is always updated but it’s been happening in the previous versions too
    • I’m on iOS Sonoma 14.6.1
    • No not everytime, and yes only when I perform stereo to mono in Audition.

I forgot to mention: So I return to Premiere with just one side playing, I then go to “Audio Channels” to check the R/L boxes - right there the waveform gets fixed. But the sound is not. It’s only when I stretch the clip, then play it stretched (now it’s fixed), and then undo the stretch. That is my workaround

im not sure if this helps but my microphone/interface is Zoom H8. It has an XY microphone (naturally stereo). i connect it to my laptop through its MultiTrack interface mode
