Add Guide only adding guides that are vertical+50 pixels

On Version 26.3.0 (Build 93)

I had to get a clean install of Premiere at work. When I went to add guides, I could change the color of the guide, but no matter what value I put in position, or change units from pixels to percent, or switch orientation, it would add the guide at position 50, units pixels, vertical. Would love to get that changed.

    I see this in PR 26.3.0. PR 25.6.4 works correctly, as does Beta 26.5.0 Build 51. Win 11.

    But to clarify: based on the versions operating correctly, a vertical guide runs top to bottom; horizontal left to right. The bug prevents me creating a vertical guide using View → Add guide. They are all added as horizontal, 50 pixels from the top.

    @mg,

    I CAN create either guide by turning on rulers and dragging from a ruler. And I can drag to reposition (i.e. the workaround Katie suggested; when zoomed in, you can drag one pixel at a time). If I right+click a guide and edit using the numbers, I CANNOT change them.

    @victoria_edits I’m experiencing the exact same issue. Also running on Version 26.3.0 (Build 93), on a MacBook Pro with an M5 Pro chip, running Tahoe 26.5.1.

    @KatieToo, your suggestion is impossible because I need a horizontal guide and am only able to create and/or view vertical guides, so dragging manually does not resolve the issue. I would appreciate hearing from the Adobe team as soon as you find a solve for this bug.

    @mg No worries, that was noted as a previous workaround that had worked for some. Noting that you’re unable to access horizontal that way, either. It would still need to be fixed regardless of any workaround, that said.

    I will be sure to return when I receive more information and update this post about a fix.

    Appreciate your patience,

    Hi @victoria_edits

    Welcome to the Premiere forums, glad you’re here. Thank you for taking the time to report this issue, and we have been able to reproduce the issue. Our team is looking into it, and we will provide an update once we have that information.

    An alternative workflow for editing guides for now is to try zooming in on the Program Monitor then dragging the guide to your desired position. With a zoomed-in Program Monitor, it should display a more precise pixel position when manually dragging the guide.

    Sorry for any frustration and appreciate your time,
    Katie
