After 2025 upgrade, 23.976 footage in a 29.97 timeline jitters on monitor out but not on export

Since upgrading to 2025, 23.976 footage in a 29.97 timeline jitters/judders/tears on the output monitor.

Output monitor sees input video correctly at 1080/60i.

When I export a timline, the jitter/judder/tearing isn't in the export.

Rendering the timeline doesn't improve or remove the jitter/judder/tearing.

All playback and viewing settings are at full quality.

We have multiple rooms. I've seen this same behavior in a second room running Windows 11 (with PP 2025).

This is the first time experiencing this phenomenon in all the CC versions we've had - starting with the first one.

Windows 10 Enterprise

Premiere Pro 25.1.0 (build 73)

Blackmagic Decklink 4k Studio output (14.4.1 driver) to a Sony Trimaster

Footage: studio masters of movies and various TV series, ProRes, mixed 29.97 and 23.976 frame rates in a 29.97 timeline.

HA!

I'm glad you found a workaround, and I'm embarrassed to have not come up with that suggestion. 🙂

Found the fix.
The default playback resolution was NOT set for High Quality Playback (Program Monitor, Wrench).

With that selection enabled, no more split fields.

I'm not sure what to make of all that; I think raising the issue with Blackmagic may be the best approach.

In my 29.97 timeline, as I frame through some of the 23.976 footage, it seems as though what I'm seeing is the output video gets messy on the split frames of the pulldown (WWWSS).
Image 1- 3 are the output of the Blackmagic Studio 4K into my Sony Tricaster Monitor, SDI-SDI.

Every split frame does this, then goes full about :03 later as I go frame by frame.

The last image of the guy on the horse is what what the Premiere Program monitor shows with "Display Both Fields" selected.

These are my conversion options. It's set to none.

We're not Blackmagic configuration experts (though my team works with them regularly; we're responsible for PPro's Transmit functionality)...

Is your output monitor connected to the Blackmagic SDI output?

I might try changing the Default Video Standard to [whatever you're using in your sequence], to see whether that helps. Also, the Conversion tab may contain some relevant params.

Blackmagic may be able to provide more specific guidance.

I thought so too. I had an old Blackmagic driver so I updated thinking that would fix the issue. Sadly, it didn't improve.
These are the settings, anything look wonkey?

If you encounter the problem during playback through the Blackmagic device, but encounter no problem when PPro renders, we have to suspect the issue is a setting available in the Blackmagic Transmit plugin...?
