ALT+drag intermittently not working (to replace a clip in timeline)

(I originally posted this as a "discussion" since I didn't know what the problem was. Now I'm reposting as a bug report since I think it's a bug.)

Short version: In Windows 11, Pr 25.3, selecting a clip in the timeline and then alt+dragging another clip from the project panel onto it, to replace it, sometimes makes the replacement clip completely transparent in the program monitor. Please see link above for details.

At the suggestion of another user on my original post, I did try exporting as a Cineform as well, with the same result. And yes, the clip always plays just fine in the source monitor. It's only in the program monitor, in the timeline, that the clip plays back as completely transparent (no picture visible).

And it only happens when 1) selecting the original clip in the timeline and then 2) using ALT+drag to replace that clip with the exported (roto'd) replacement.

At the suggestion of the user in my original post, I tried just straight up deleting the original clip off the timeline, leaving a gap. Then I dragged the replacement into the gap. Since it was the same clip that had just been roto'd in Ae and rendered back out, it fit perfectly of course. And sure enough, plays back flawlessly in the program monitor. So it is only the ALT+drag shortcut that is now causing the issue, apparently.

Hi @cre8vimp,

Thank you for reporting a problem and sorry for the issues.

Have you been able to test with other clips or is this specific to the ProRes files with alpha? After you do the replacement and nothing shows up in the Program monitor, are you able to double-click on this 'transparent' or 'empty' clip to open up in the Source monitor and is it showing up there?
