Anomaly editing form a source sequence between dragging vs shortcut

Observation: when using shortcuts to insert an in-out range form a source sequence with clips with non default scale, rotation, position parameters to an other sequence. All these motion parameters will be reset to default values. Opacity, and effects will be included just fine.

BUT… when jou drag, with the mouse, from the source panel, bin, or from an other sequence these motion properties travel over just fine.

This seems like a bug to me, but I might be missing some logic or hidden checkbox?FWIW this is in 25.2.3 and in 25.6.3

See screenrecoding.

Hi @Joost van der Hoeven

I've checked, and it is indeed a bug.  The good news is that it should be fixed in the current Beta if you'd like to give that a try or wait for the next release version. Hopefully, you can work around it in the meantime.  Thanks so much for bringing it to our attention.  Happy editing.

Hi @Joost van der Hoeven
Thank you for filing your bug report and providing the video that demonstrates the issue.  I will look into whether this is a bug or intended behavior.  Happy New Year.

True! I've only played with "the Avid" on a couple occasions. And a lot of your students are going to be working far larger and more 'collaborative/iterative' projects than I do, so they would have reason to use the Source window where for my (relatively) piddly sequences, pancake is quick & easy.

I just included that as the reason I haven't personally noted this before. And yes, it is an odd difference from a user perspective, whether or not it is by design.

Thanks @R Neil Haugen, many Avid editors I train like their source sequence and use in- out- insert/overwirte form the source window. They like the pancake to, but preger do drive with keyboard shortcuts and less with mouse.

Um .... well, although I can think of an explanation for why there might be two different results from "the same thing" ... I can't think of why the user would want to dump the size/position data behind.

So I can see a dev saying "that was to allow an option ... " while I'd be shaking my head and thinking "that's ... silly ..." ... a verbal and internal discussion I've had with devs on some things every NAB ... 😉

So I'm with you on this one. I don't think I'd done this with shortcuts from the Source monitor though ... I typically go 'pancake' mode for doing grab/copy sections between sequences.
