Audio mutes on clips after importing to timeline

Have Adobe Premiere Pro 25.4.0 (Build 99)

Me & my team have been encountering issues with Premiere in the past few months where if we import clips into our project or the timeline, the audio gets automatically muted on a clip, even if other clips have sound. Not sure if essential sound is the root of this problem.
