BMD Desktop Video causing Premiere Pro to Freeze Playback

In my facility we have a number of PCs that are running Premiere 2024 and Black Magic desktop 12.7.1. We have been encountering a bug that only happens when transmit is enabled. With transmit enabled, Premiere will randomly, yet consistently, stop playing video in the program monitor, view and external display.  We can move clips around, drag the play head, but no video will update. The only way to get video to play again is to reboot Premiere.
Premiere Pro 24.0.0

Microsoft Windows 11 Pro
HP Z4 G4 Workstation
i9-10900X CPU @ 3.70GHz, 3696 Mhz, 10 Core(s)
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 128 GB
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti

We're working with Blackmagic, on finding a resolution; nothing to report yet.

As previously stated, we will keep this thread informed of any progress.

Yes, thats correct. I have edited the whole day without freezes after I switched the Playback Engine to "Software only", SDI output was stable.

I am experiencing the same problem on different PCs, HPZ840 Dual Xeon with Quadro M4000 and Avid DNXIO (which is built by Blackmagic) and a newer i9 with a Radeon w5700 using Decklink Extreme. Totally different Setups, but same Freezing Error via SDI Output after editing a few minutes.

For me disabling CUDA (or OpenCl on the Radeon) helped to work with a stable SDI Output via the Blackmagic Hardware. Of course it is a terrible workaround to work without GPU Support, but at least it is possible to work with a powerful CPU.

Adobe, please fix this immediately!

Hi Bruce,

That's precisely correct.

Hi Lukas,

It does not happen when Mercury transmit is enabled through GPU output.

Do you mean that it does not happen, when you use PPro's transmit functionality, without involving BMD or AJA transmit plugins?

Just to chime in. This is not only isolated to BMD cards. We're running AJA Lhi PCie output cards in our workstations, and it's also hapenning when Mercury playback is enabled through it.

We have the same issues with a different setup (aja Kona IP, adobe 23.6.2), might I ask for a case number so that I can share this with our case engineer, this might help speed up the process.
