Bug or weird decision?

When relinking files the cancel and locate buttons have swapped positions. They have been that way for years and I can't think of any logical reason to move them. Is this a bug or the most egregious example yet of changing things for the sake of it?!

It certainly makes more sense like this than just swapping the buttons round without adding any new ones. I thought I was losing my mind 🙂

@MstrO Thanks very much for the feedback. We agree with you that switching the buttons to have Cancel on the right isn't a good idea. Here's a new design that will be coming into beta soon. We'd appreciate your feedback.

Fergus

I'm sorry all! Apparently this Apply button is not yet in the public beta. We're working on an Apply button for this dialog, and as part of that will swap the buttons as I described. It looks like the button swapping slipped out early by mistake. It'll all make more sense when the Apply button comes 🙂

@mattchristensen

It still has 4 buttons so has the beta.

There is no Apply.

@mattchristensen,

Thanks for the info; makes sense.

In 25.6.2 and Beta 26.0.0.39, I do not see the Apply button. I tried a few things (deselect apply to all automatically, etc), and nothing changes.

No it doesn't, it has the same buttons it's had for years and they have just moved for no reason. I'm in the latest version.

Hi @MstrO this was an intentional change, as part of adding the "Apply" button.

The dialog now has 5 buttons:

Offline All • Offline • Locate • Cancel • Apply

The first three operate on the selected rows, while the last two (Cancel • Apply) will close the dialog, either saving or throwing away what you've done in it. As we added "Apply", it made sense that "Cancel" should be right next to it as they are similar in functionality.

I'm there with you on muscle memory, I've clicked the wrong one a few times now too. But hopefully this is a better layout of the buttons moving forward now that we have the "Apply" button. Thanks!
