Cannot edit subtitles

I've never experienced this before, but my Premiere is refusing to let me edit any subtitles in the program monitor whilst the subtitles are 'captions' (not graphics yet and not just in the transcript). Editing in the 'Transcript' section also does nothing which is very frustrating. As for the Captions section in the Text panel, it's letting me edit but Captions is so chaotic to use anyway so I can't use that method.

My Premiere is up to date (25.6.2) and I'm on an Apple M3 Max, 48GB, using Sequoia 15.3.2

Most of my work requires me to edit subtitles so this is getting very frustrating.

@Robbie34135385e7mh,

I posted an update to my bug report that focused on a possible cause for what you are seeing.

Hi @Robbie34135385e7mh

Thank you for reporting a problem and sorry you've been experiencing issues. Is this happening across different projects, or is it project/sequence-specific? A few other questions:

Are you able to click and highlight the captions at all in the Program monitor and are they visible? What if you close and re-open the Program monitor panel or undock it?

When you say the Transcript tab does nothing, do you mean it's unresponsive, or that the changes made there aren't reflected in the captions (this would be expected behavior, new captions would be needed to reflect transcript changes)?

Sorry for the frustration,

Dani
