Captions has suddenly gone blank on the word "oil"

Issue: I’ve noticed in the last month or so that the auto captions have suddenly gone blank on the word “oil.” It’s also started dropping words at the beginning of a sentence but I assume that is related to the cuts being too close to that sentence starting. The “oil” issue is stranger and more annoying.

The sentence being spoken will be something like, “I am going to be pouring a lot of oils into this bucket.”

And the automatic captions will display, “I am going to be pouring a lot of into this bucket.”

I’m a soap maker, so the word “oil” gets said a lot in the videos I’m editing. I don’t think there’s been a single time recently where the captions have included this word successfully when Premiere used to get it just fine.

Steps to Reproduce: Go to add a caption track. Problem is present.
Expected Result: Premiere should still know what the word “oil” is??
Actual Result: The word “oil” or “oils” is left out of the caption track.
Premiere Version: 26.5.2
Operating System: Windows 11
GPU and Driver (Windows only): NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU (8 GB)
Intel(R) UHD Graphics (128 MB) (drivers are up to date for both)
Project Size: Any size, it’s been doing it for all projects.

    That is very strange.

Is it in the transcription? How are you transcribing?

If it is not in the transcription and you add it there, is it present when you create captions?

Check for the slight chance that it got added as a censored word. Or that PR for some odd reason things it is a filler word. Make sure the transcript options are set to show them.

How are you creating the captions?

When you edit a caption and add “oils,” does it show then?
