Changing Workspaces Causes Project Window to Reset (closes all folders)

I copy/pasted this title from another user from two years ago because it’s still not solved.

When I jump from workspaces (from my editing presets to color for example), all the bins in my project file close. I always have these bins open for a reason, perhaps I’m working in sub-bins for only one scene or part of a project. Having to reopen them every time I go into another workspace is so unnecessary. Please leave the project window alone when I switch workspaces!

    Hi @Neil_Fennell7262

Welcome to the Premiere community. Thank you for taking the time to report a problem. It would help us if you could use the link " How to Report a Problem," which provides steps to provide more information that can help us identify the issue.

    Here to help.

I’m confused, the link you pointed to shows exactly what I did. I went to “report a problem,” clicked “report a bug,” and posted here.

    Hi @Neil_Fennell7262
Thank you so much for the description you posted. Could you provide a few details from the link? Such as,

    • Screen recording – If you think it might be helpful, include a recording of your screen, showing the issue.
    • Adobe Premiere Pro version – FAQ: How to find the exact version of Premiere Pro you're using?
    • Operating system – Specify Windows or macOS, along with the version
    • GPU driver version (Windows only) – If you're on Windows, please let us know what version of the video card (GPU) driver you are using.
    • Video format – If your issue is related to video playback or export, please let us know what format the video is in. Ideally, share with us a sample video.
    • Comparative information helps us understand more about when the issue occurs:
      • Does it affect all projects or only some projects?
      • Does it affect new projects?
      • When did the problem begin?

Right now, a good workaround to keep bins open is to float the panels for the bins you need to stay open.
    Here to help.

Wow ... I’ve used Premiere for over a decade, since CS6, and have had this happen maybe twice in all that time. It would be so maddening no question.

Are these saved workspaces that you gave new names to? Does reset to saved layout fix the locations thing?

    Everyone's mileage always varies ...

I have a saved workspace that I use for general editing… and when I go into the color workspace (usually the one I have to toggle between) it closes all my bins. When I go back to my usual saved editing workspace they stay closed.
