Click Drag Isn't Working - Or Only Works After Multiple Attempts

When click dragging, either to highlight a clip on the timeline, or clicking and dragging a keyframe, it will select the object, but the drag function will not work. I’ve tried resetting premier, Ive tried 3 different mice, I’ve updated my macbook pro (2023 model year), M3 Max) removed any extensions, removed external hardware, still click drag isn’t working. Also deleted any mouse control apps, like the Logi App for one of the mice of tried, still doesn’t work. Click drag (like highlighting text) outside of premier pro seems to work, so this seems like an issue exclusive to premier pro. 

In new projects, it seems to work fine, but once it starts happening on a project, the click drag bug seems to get worse for that specific project.

      Thanks for stopping by the Premiere forums and giving us those details about your click and drag issue. There’s been a report with similar click and drag problem on macOS that was resolved by removing the Logitech Premiere extension. Removing the general Logitech mouse application may not remove that Premiere integration.

      Could you confirm whether a Logitech Premiere extension or integration is still installed? not only while Premiere is launched (look under the top menu Window > Extensions) but also in Activity Monitor to see if there’s any leftover Logitech processes/agents running. After that, relaunch Premiere and try the same affected project again.

      Because a new project works but eventually develops the problem, it could be something else has gone wonky. Try this following test:

      1. Restart the Mac.
      2. Launch Premiere from the Applications folder or Dock.
      3. Do not double-click the project file.
      4. Open the project through File > Open Project.
      5. Test dragging.

      We might like to request you get us what’s known as a Sample Process. You can open Activity Monitor up before launching Premiere, and then as soon as the issue happens, do the following:

      1. Open or swap over to Activity Monitor.
      2. Select Premiere.
      3. Choose View > Sample Process.
      4. Save the resulting report.
      5. Repeat once or twice while the input is not working.

      Also, I see you’re on macbook pro (2023 model year), M3 Max so far. What version and build of Premiere are you currently using?
