Crash when opening Graphics tab in Text panel with nested Transform effects on grouped text layers
Issue: Premiere Pro crashes when opening the Graphics tab of the Text panel (Window > Text > Graphics) if a graphic/text layer contains 3 or more nested subgroups, each with its own "Transform" effect applied and enabled. The crash is deterministic and tied specifically to the number of simultaneously enabled Transform effects within nested groups on the same layer — not to the project file itself.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Create a graphic/text layer with 3 nested subgroups, each containing one text element with a "Transform" effect applied to the group.
- With all 3 Transform effects disabled, open the Text panel > Graphics tab — no crash.
- Enable 1 of the 3 Transform effects — no crash.
- Enable a 2nd Transform effect (2 of 3 active) — no crash.
- Enable the 3rd Transform effect (3 of 3 active) — Premiere Pro crashes immediately.
Expected Result: The Graphics tab should open normally regardless of how many Transform effects are enabled within nested groups.
This is a workflow I've used extensively for a long time without any issue, stacking multiple Transform effects on nested groups within the same layer, and this crash has only started appearing in the past few weeks, across two unrelated projects.
Actual Result: Premiere Pro crashes as soon as the 3rd Transform effect is enabled and the Graphics tab is opened.
My original setup was a single layer with three nested groups, each containing one text element and one Transform effect (as shown in the attached screenshots) — but I also tested splitting this into three separate, simpler text layers, each with its own individual Transform effect, and the same crash occurs: no issue while the Text panel is closed, but it crashes as soon as I open it, confirming the bug is tied to having 3 active Transform effects visible in the Graphics tab, regardless of whether they're nested in one layer or spread across three.
I specifically rely on the Transform effect rather than the layer's native position/scale properties because it's the only way to achieve motion blur on the animation — the native transform properties don't support motion blur.

Troubleshooting already attempted:
- Fully uninstalled and reinstalled Premiere Pro — issue persists.
- Launched Premiere Pro holding Shift and selected all 4 reset options (Reset app preferences, Clear media cache files, Reset plugin loading cache, Disable third-party plugins) — issue persists.
Additional Notes:
- This issue has been reproduced on two different machines and two entirely unrelated projects, ruling out a project-specific or hardware-specific cause.
- Does it affect all projects or only some? All projects tested so far that use this Transform-per-nested-group structure.
- The only workaround found is deleting and manually recreating all text/effects from scratch, which is not a real fix and is extremely time-consuming on larger sequences.
- This workflow (Transform effect per nested subgroup, to stagger text entrance animations) is standard and has been used without issue in earlier Premiere Pro versions.
