Custom text presets no longer retaining postition

I am finding an issue where text presets are no longer retaining the postition. I am setting the text dead centre using the align tools in essential graphics. I then save this as a preset and apply it to the rest of the text on my timeline. But all of the text changes to I am guessing the default position. This also applies to old presets I created a while ago. FYI the text was generated as subtitles from a transcription and then I upgraded those captions so that I can distinguish speakers.

Can anyone help? I am having to manually select each caption and change them one by one.

MacOS Sonoma 14.1.1

PP Version 24.2.1

Thanks

Hi! First, can you clarify what you mean with "text presets"? Do you mean a style or effect preset or something else?

And if you mean styles, how are you applying them? Best if you could show this in a little recording in action!

I will be on Sabbatical starting tomorrow, but I bet @Theresa Rostek will also be able to help once we have more info.

Thanks for the bug report, @lfb_billy. I wonder if @AnnikaKoenig might be able to assist.

Thanks,
Kevin

In addition to the alignment in the EGP, there are 2 more alignments in the Effect Controls. All 3 have anchor positions as well. The "Upgrade Caption to Graphic" inherits characteristics of the caption style. So it can be complicated depending on how you created and apply the preset.

Screenshots that show all the Effect controls might help.
