Dragging anything is so temperamental

I'm having problems when dragging items on Premiere Pro. Whether it's the playhead, an item on my timeline or property values, dragging is currently super temperamental and is making it diffcult to edit. I have tried restarting the app, clearing all cache, and restarting my computer but the problem still persists. Here is a screen recording that shows the issue. Can anyone advise please?

I'm on Adobe Premiere Pro Version 25.6.3 (Build 2)

Using a 14 inch Macbook Pro (Nov 2024)
Chip: Apple M4 Pro

Same issue 26.3.0 - I have this every other day, for months now, enough to drive me crazy when it happens. Then suddenly it drags only to have the same issue. I have bluetooth mouse but when it happens It’s the same for the trackpad. It is software issue. It does drag everything else on my mac, folders, files, photoshop. It’s related only to Premiere.

Do you notice a difference when using a Bluetooth mouse or the Multi-Touch Trackpad?

To follow on from this, I've noticed when I click a 'sort by' item, Premiere seems to register this as a double click. For example, when I press 'sort by name' in my project bin, it registers two clicks and inverts the order twice. I've done a click counter test online to see if this is a hardware issue, but it seems to be registering my clicks correctly on there. Not sure if this issue is the reason why dragging won't work
