Ducking keyframes reappearing

When I generate ducking keyframes and then try to delete some of the generated keyframes, Premiere acts like the keyframes are still there - i.e. the volume still rises at the ‘previously’ keyframed spots despite the waveform showing as flat.  Then, when I so much as touch the scroll bar at the bottom of the screen the invisible (and apparently indestructable) keyframes suddenly reappear.  I’ve even tried adding manual keyframes to lower the levels at the problem points, but the originally auto-generated keyframes overpower my correction.

See video for the magically reappearing keyframe trick.

This is in Premiere 26.3 on Windows 11

    Hi @Matt Young14394008 ,

Thank you for the reporting and for including a video of the occurrence.

The team would like to try and reproduce this issue on our end. Could you please provide additional detail in the format below, and would be able to screenshot of your Effects Control Panel, and Essential Sounds Panel?

    • Steps to Reproduce: A numbered list of the exact steps needed to replicate the issue.
    • Expected Result: What should happen after the final step?
    • Actual Result: What actually occurred?
    • Premiere Version: Premiere 26.3
    • Operating System: Windows 11
    • GPU Driver (Windows only): Please let us know your video card driver version.
      • We recommend updating to the most recent version; for NVIDIA users, we strongly recommend the Studio version of the driver.

    Best,

    Jonathan

Upon walking through the steps as I recreated the issue in Premiere, I got to the part where you requested screenshots of the effects panel and now see what’s happening:  the timeline is only showing me the keyframes on the left channel, so when I delete them they disappear but the audio still goes up because the right channel keyframes are still there.

You can see here on the timeline that there appear to be no keyframes towards the end of the music (though you can see the waveform rise after the end of A1 content:

In the effects panel there are keyframes at the end of the music on the right channel only:

    • Steps to reproduce:
    1. Create new sequence.
    2. Add dialog track to Audio 1 and click auto match in the Essential Sound panel
    3. Add music track to Audio 2 and click auto match in the Essential Sound panel
    4. In Essential Sound panel of music track on Audio 2, use ‘remix’ to extend the music approximately five seconds past the length of the dialog on A1 (not sure if it’s necessary, but it’s what I did)
    5. In that same panel, turn ducking on, change fade position to 3.8, leave everything else as default, and then click ‘generate keyframes’
    6. In the timeline, locate the two end keyframes on A2 which cause the music to raise back up after the dialog of A1 stops and delete them by selecting the pen tool, highlighting them and then pressing delete.
    • Expected Result: The audio level of A2 should stay at the lowered volume even after the dialog on A1 stops.
    • Actual Result: They timeline shows the keyframes are gone, but when played the music rises after the end of the dialog on A1
    • Premiere Version: Premiere 26.3
    • Operating System: Windows 11
    • GPU Driver: Quadro P4000 driver version 582.41
